Ingredients:
1 pound of pasta (any kind)
4 tablespoons of olive oil
4 cloves of garlic, minced
1/4 teaspoon of red pepper flakes (optional)
1 (28-ounce) can of crushed tomatoes
Salt and black pepper to taste
1/4 cup of chopped fresh basil
Grated Parmesan cheese for serving
Directions:
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook it according to the package instructions until it is al dente.
While the pasta is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes (if using) and cook until the garlic is fragrant, about 1-2 minutes.
Add the crushed tomatoes to the skillet and season with salt and black pepper to taste. Stir everything until it is well combined and let the sauce simmer for 5-7 minutes.
When the pasta is cooked, drain it and add it to the skillet with the tomato sauce. Toss everything until the pasta is well coated with the sauce.
Sprinkle the chopped fresh basil over the pasta and toss again.
Serve the pasta hot with grated Parmesan cheese on top.
You can also add your favorite protein like chicken, shrimp, or sausage to the sauce for an extra burst of flavor and protein. Enjoy your delicious homemade pasta!
