Serves: Approximately 12-16 brownie squares

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (optional)
  • Optional: Chopped nuts, such as walnuts or pecans (about 1/2 cup)

Instructions:

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking pan.
  • In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter. Stir in the sugar until well combined.
  • Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter-sugar mixture, stirring until just combined. Do not overmix.
  • If desired, fold in the chocolate chips and chopped nuts.
  • Pour the batter into the greased baking pan, spreading it evenly.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  • Remove from the oven and let the brownies cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares.
  • Serve and enjoy!
  • You can also add a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dusting of powdered sugar on top of the brownies for extra indulgence.
