Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cooking Time: 25-30 minutes
Serves: Approximately 12-16 brownie squares
Ingredients:
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chocolate chips (optional)
- Optional: Chopped nuts, such as walnuts or pecans (about 1/2 cup)
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking pan.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter. Stir in the sugar until well combined.
- Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter-sugar mixture, stirring until just combined. Do not overmix.
- If desired, fold in the chocolate chips and chopped nuts.
- Pour the batter into the greased baking pan, spreading it evenly.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Remove from the oven and let the brownies cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares.
- Serve and enjoy!
- You can also add a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dusting of powdered sugar on top of the brownies for extra indulgence.
